Drive Revolution 2017

Event Dates: June 21-22, 2017
Event Location:
Portland, OR

Much could potentially change this year in the regulations that spur progress toward more efficient and technologically advanced vehicles. Yet it’s safe to say that electrified technology—whether it’s in the form of battery electric cars, plug-in hybrids, or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles—is here to stay. That coincides with the event location, outside Portland General Electric headquarters and next to Electric Avenue, Portland’s hub for vehicle charging.

Our annual green-car event, Drive Revolution, exists to let automotive journalists survey these vehicles, and to let manufacturers detail the technology and sharpen the messaging behind these models.

The event is held in Portland, Oregon—one of the top markets in the nation for green cars, and starting this next year, via the ZEV Mandate, one of the markets in which selling such vehicles is required of larger automakers. As before, we hope to assess what’s currently available in such ‘green’ vehicles, learn and engage about upcoming technology, and share what’s worked in the Pacific Northwest with the rest of the nation.

This year our event again piggybacks EV Roadmap, one of the leading electric vehicle conferences in the United States, organized by Drive Oregon. That conference runs just before Drive Revolution—June 20-21—and includes two days of presentations, talks, and workshops on a diverse range of topics, from charging infrastructure to connected-car strategies. We strongly encourage your attendance, and it’s free for those attending Drive Revolution [with a separate advance signup]. Here’s Drive Oregon’s invitation:

The EV Roadmap Conference is one of the premiere electric vehicle events in the United States. Each year, the event brings together the industry’s key stakeholders including automakers, charging station manufacturers, utilities, and policy advocates, to explore emerging trends, share best practices, and map out the road ahead. This year’s event will be on June 20-21 and is expected to draw a sell-out crowd from across the country.

In addition to the conference program, the event will feature a Ride & Drive on Tuesday, June 20, which will showcase the latest electric vehicles on the market to attendees of EV Roadmap. I would like to invite your company to become a Ride & Drive Sponsor. Through our partnership with Drive Revolution, though, we will be able to offer a reduced sponsorship rate if your firm agrees to participate in BOTH events. Contact Emmaline Pohnl of Drive Oregon to learn more!

For Drive Revolution, the main event for us as automotive journalists, we’ll convene over dinner June 21, then gather up to 20 vehicles, each representing the automakers’ varying green strategies, for a ride-and-drive June 22 (the next day). The goal here is to give those who cover cars and the industry in a broader sense a better, up-close look at today’s green-car technology, and to have lots of conversation about the automotive future.

NOTES
